Seminar on migration and migrators rights

A seminar on migration and migrators rights was held at Zlatibor from 16 to 19 September 2013. The seminar was led by expert Masimo Frigo. Frigo who is a Legal Adviser at International Commission of Jurists in Genève, used the opportunity to talk about international and regional treaties related to migration as well as relevant court decisions on the field. Other topics which covered protection and realization of migrants’ rights during the seminar were detention, economic, social and cultural rights and applicability of international remedies.

The seminar was held in the framework of the project “Fostering NGO human rights” by Group 484 in cooperation with OSCE mission to Serbia. The project aims to establish dialogue, build network and capacity locally, regionally and internationally. Also, the project contributes to close ties in the region of Western Balkan and to facilitate communication between the civil society, organizations, institutions and individuals who work with refugees and internally displaced persons.
