Distribution of the tablet computers to primary schools in Bujanovac
Today, 6 May 2020, in the Bujanovac Cultural Centre the distribution of 195 tablet computers was organised for eight primary and two secondary schools in this town. Within the project “Our city, our schools” implemented by Group 484 in cooperation with the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa and Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation, during the COVID 19 virus pandemic, it was estimated that primary and secondary schools in Bujanovac lack computers that would allow students to function more easily during unforeseen circumstances. In this way, youth will also have the opportunity to improve their computer skills and to better cope in the virtual world.
During the distribution of the tablets, Bejtula Mustafi, Advisor for the Improvement of Relations with National Communities, addressed the audience on behalf of the Coordination Body, saying: “This is an important step for all supported school in Bujanovac, especially if there is a need to organise distance learning again”.
On this occasion, Ivana Seratlić, Group 484 Programme Assistant, emphasised the importance for Group 484 of working with local communities and added: “We are extremely glad to be a part of this story of solidarity. The mission of our organisation is implemented and realised through this type of activity. So far, we have worked with over a thousand schoolchildren in Bujanovac and about 300 teachers who attended the seminar ‘We and the Others’”. Ivana added that the plan is to open a Youth Club where youth will create their own activities.
