The urgent response of the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade on the new Covid-19 epidemic situation
Within the project ‘Support to Migrant and Local Communities in Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia’, the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade has provided an extension of Group 484 intervention, in response to the new COVID-19 epidemic situation. The Norwegian Embassy has once again recognised the urgency of the situation and provided additional funding to be used to support civil society organisations in providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable groups, as well as facilitating access to services impeded by restrictive measures in Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.
The priority of this support will be assistance to local communities. Some of the activities we will support in the upcoming period are the provision of food, hygiene packages for the most vulnerable categories of residents, organisation of volunteer support groups in day-care centres, soup kitchens, as well as the procurement and distribution of necessary hygiene supplies, etc.
The project will continue to support asylum and reception centres to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 virus among migrants as a high-risk category.
Our immense gratitude goes to the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade for supporting and recognising the urgency of the response to the epidemic.
No one is safe until everyone is protected!
