Also, review of literature and categorization were defined.
The project Transnational networks, transnational entrepreneurship and role of the state” has started in July 2012. Its duration is 12 months. It is realized under Regional Research Promotion Programme on Western Balkans (RRPP) that is coordinated and operated by the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The increasing mobility of the highly-skilled professionals, faclilitated by the development of new information and communication technology, provide exceptional opportunities for the development of newly emerging economies. Those foreign-born entrepreneurs and highly-skilled immigrants who live in developed countries have a powerful advantage: through their informal networks they can quickly identify promising new market opportunities, locate and establish partnerships – including those located in geographically distant locations, as well as to manage complex business relationships and teamwork across cultural and linguistic barriers.
This is the reason why Group 484 in partnership with ICLA and Institute of Social Sciences intends to examine formal, semiformal and informal transnational networks created by transnational entrepreneurs who connect Western Balkans with other European and transatlantic countries.
