About the project “Road Map for Migrants – Guide through the Labyrinth”
It is our great pleasure to present the Road Map for Migrants – Guide through the Labyrinth Project funded by the European Union within the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS) 2018 & 2019. The Project will last from January 2020 to December 2021 and it will be implemented by Group 484 and Balkan Center for Migration and Humanitarian Activities (BCM).
Throughout our previous work we have identified the importance of influencing the legal and strategic framework of Serbia in the field of migration and its implementation in order to ensure a full respect for human rights and the humane treatment (without discrimination) of migrants regardless of their migration status.
Thus, Road Map for Migrants – Guide through the Labyrinth aims at supporting migrants in regulating their legal status and ensuring access to proper education and employment in the Republic of Serbia (RS) in line with their legal status. Additionally, we will endeavour to affect local communities so that they understand and respect the human rights of migrants, as well as to support their realization.
The Project will be focused not only on migrants with different migration status accommodated in reception/asylum centres (with a particular focus on those who are in a ‘legal limbo’ in terms of their status), migrant children and youth and their parents, but also on relevant national and local stakeholders and decision-makers as well as citizens, including local parents and their children, local youth and teaching staff in schools in which migrant children are included.
